Understanding the Bracket
Choonament uses single-elimination brackets. Each round, tracks compete in matchups. The winner advances to the next round while the loser is eliminated. This continues until only one track remains: the Champion.
Example: 8 tracks compete over 3 rounds to determine a champion
What Are Byes?
A bye is when a track automatically advances to the next round without competing. This happens when you don't have a perfect power-of-2 number of tracks (like 8, 16, 32).
Example: With 5 tracks...
- • Round 1 needs to reduce 5 tracks to 4 (a power of 2)
- • Only 1 matchup happens (2 tracks compete, 1 eliminated)
- • The other 3 tracks get byes and advance automatically
- • Round 2 starts with 4 tracks as normal
